Shopping

shopping is defined as a searching for or buying goods or services; "went shopping for a reliable plumber"; "does her shopping at the mall rather than down town"

India is a shopper's paradise, a statement that has not been told without a reason. Be it handicrafts or herbs, paintings or antiques, traditional garments or modern fashion statements, India has everything to offer. The whole country is a shopping mall, with sellers offering some of the most exotic products one can find anywhere. The bustling bazaars of the country can make even the most unwilling person a prospective client.

india is still the proverbial "Shopper's paradise" for enterprising bargain hunters. However, before you buy, it is better to compare prices with the neighbouring shop. With tourists, bargaining is almost a practice. Emporiums run by State Government are a safe place to buy because the quality is standardised, the UPS usually lower the prices fixed.

Stores are divided into multiple categories of stores which sell a selected set of goods or services. Usually they are tiered by target demographics based on the disposable income of the shopper. They can be tiered from cheap to pricey.

The pricing technique used by most retailers is cost-plus pricing. This involves adding a markup amount (or percentage) to the retailers cost. Another common technique is manufacturers suggested list pricing. This simply involves charging the amount suggested by the manufacturer and usually printed on the product by the manufacturer.

Ensure that you are fully satisfied with your purchases and that you obtain a proper receipt. Return of goods is not entertained, even less, once you have returned to your country because Indian customs have strict regulations against this. Should your shopping weight be too much to accompany you by air, it can be sent as unaccompanied baggage.
